We are seeking up to 3 full-time, seasonal assistant growers for the 2025 growing season. Positions vary depending on previous farm experience and availability.
A Little About our Farm
Holly Hill Farm is a small-scale, diversified, no-till, organic farm; growing Certified Organic vegetables, herbs, microgreens, flowers, and seedlings in Cohasset, MA. Year-round farm operations take place on approximately 2 acres, utilizing 2 heated greenhouses, 2 unheated high tunnels, and 2 caterpillar tunnels. Our sales outlets are our weekly farm stand, seasonal farmer’s market, square online store, and some limited wholesale accounts. You will have the opportunity to experience all that goes into a full season of intensive small-scale farming, gain insight and experience assisting with the microgreens program, and be an integral part of executing our robust annual Plant Sale plan which involves intensive spring-time nursery work. Assistant growers will work closely with two Farm Managers and an Assistant Farm Manager on a team of 5-6 people (not including weekly volunteers). Weekly responsibilities will include nursery work such as seeding, watering, and up-potting, field work including weed management, transplanting, irrigation, harvest, and trellising, and farm store/market setup, restocking and breakdown.
Open Positions
The three open positions are tiered according to the prior experience levels required/desired for different phases of the growing season; accordingly, the three positions differ in employment duration, hourly compensation, and responsibilities. A strong preference will be given to applicants with one or more years of farm experience who are looking to broaden their knowledge of vegetable and flower production; however, anyone with a desire to work outdoors and learn more about small-scale farming is encouraged to apply. Also highly valued is past employment in jobs that involve/require some or all of the following: working outdoors, physical labor, fast-paced work environments (such as restaurant work), and retail work. It is vital that crew members have a positive attitude, a sense of humor, a fast-paced mentality, and are able to work cooperatively with others. Interest and or experience with marketing, retail, and working with volunteers would all be a plus.
2025 Assistant Growers Positions’ Descriptions:
A) Full-Time Farm Hand (40hrs/week)
B) Full time New Entry Farmer (40hrs/week)
C. Peak-Season Assistant Grower (32 - 40hrs/week dependent on Employment Duration)
