Educational Programs for Schools

School Programming

Our farm educators bring hands-on learning experiences to schools through classroom lessons and school garden projects.

We engage students on topics like sustainable farming, climate change, ecology, healthy eating, conservation, and being good caretakers of the land.

Students learn by creating, planting, maintaining, harvesting, cooking, and eating from school gardens or our farm education garden.

Our curriculum empowers learners to engage with big, complex questions and explore STEM concepts. Together with classroom teachers, we connect students with the natural world - our life-support system! We offer curriculum aligned with the Massachusetts State Frameworks and tailor lessons to the students, the unit, and the season.

Field Trips to Holly Hill Farm

At the heart of Holly Hill Farm field trips is the interconnection of children to the food they eat, to the people who grow and have grown it, to the earth and all the systems and cycles that make it happen.

And to make the experience the most rewarding it can be, the farm educators work closely with the school/organization to design a trip that connects to what is being learned in the classroom and to district, state, and national standards, as well as the individual needs of the children.

These visits can last from a single hour to a full day. However long you stay, the children will continuously thrill in the hands-on learning and discovery that makes up our curriculum.

For more information about our field trips, please click below and complete our Field Trip Inquiry form. We look forward to meeting you and your children!

Curriculum Guide

Our farm-based curriculum guides give teachers the tools they need to think outside of the classroom. With expert guidance, we help schools to plan field trips and to execute educational gardens for outdoor learning.
