Spring is a season bursting with possibilities around the farm! The energy of birth and growth vibrates through the soil and roots, in the air and water, everywhere young bodies can joyfully observe and explore. It is also a time of constant change and beauty.
For 9 weeks*, children (ages 3-13) can be a part of this energy. Not only will they learn about, plant, and care for seasonal vegetables and fruits and what helps them grow into healthy, organic food, they will also explore the connections every garden has with the rest of nature and even ourselves.
*Monday session runs April 3 - June 5, 2023 (8-weeks). Priced accordingly.

Art in Nature (Grades 3-5)
Nature is full of beauty, awe, and inspiration, especially as we transition into spring! Children during this program will explore ways to recognize and capture the magical beauty of spring through different media and styles, playing art games, and discovering natural objects along trails, the intricacy of buds and new leaves, the wonder of a goat’s eye, and the light and shadow made by trees and rock and sun. They may replicate this beauty or imagine it in new ways. By the end of the session, each child will have multiple pieces of art – paintings, wood art, sculptures, mosaics, etc – to bring home with them, as well as their own journal.
Tuesdays
Outdoor Exploration (Grades 1-5)
Children will explore and create within the secret areas around the farm, including the woods, meadows, and Ice Pond. Each outing will open their eyes to new places and possibilities as they learn to navigate, observe, and create within the spring settings of the farm. Children may be using compasses, building full-size shelters and civilizations, creating fairy homes, tracking animals, and more.
Thursdays
Spring STEAM (Ages Grades 1-5)
Based on the many science themes of spring, children will experiment, engineer, solve problems, create art, write poems and stories, and more. Some of these themes may include flight, buoyancy, Rube Goldberg chain reactions, farming, citizen science projects, animal shelters, map-making, biomimicry, and more.
