Our farm stand sales: important update

In order to keep all of us as safe as possible, our weekly farm stand has moved to online sales only.    The demand for fresh produce and food is overwhelming and we are doing our very best to keep up, but we apologize that items sell out very quickly, and that if stock is very low it may become out of stock by the time you check out.
Our weekly farm stand goes live on our store each week on Thursdays at 10 am.  Notes about the sale:

  • There is a $20 minimum.
  • Because of new hygiene regulations which necessitate increased staff time, there is a $5 packing charge per order.
  • After placing your order, you will be able to choose a curb side pick up time at the farm on Saturday.

Our plant and garden supplies sales: important update

We will also be holding our regular plant sales in May, including our private member's only sale.
Additionally, we will be adding  plants to our weekly online store as the become available and ready to be planted in your own garden.  We suggest you check the shop link frequently below to see current stock. Some notes about purchasing:

  • There is a $20 minimum.
  • Because of new hygiene regulations which necessitate increased staff time, there is a $5 packaging charge per order.
  • After placing your order, you will be able to choose a curb side pick up time at the farm on Saturday or Wednesday.

Spring 2020: an update

Because of the COVID-19 crisis, we have lost significant revenue due to the forced closure of our educational programs and the loss of revenue from farmer's markets, workshops and other revenue generating activities.

On March 26th, we therefore undertook an urgent fundraising campaign, seeking to raise $50,000.  Our community quickly came through for us, helping us to meet our goal....and more.

We're thrilled to report that we received donations far exceeding our goal.

We were so touched by your generosity, and by your outpouring of  care and concern for the farm. We are incredibly grateful for your support and your trust in us.

We can now get back to the tasks most urgently at hand:  growing healthy food for our community, caring for our animals, reducing community waste through our extensive composting programs, and creating  content to educate our community about sustainability and the natural world.

Thanks to you, we can continue to be a resource for this community.

We thank you from the bottom of our hearts.

Holly Hill Farm is adapting to a changing world;

we want to keep you updated on our current operations:

  • Our farm stand is closed to the public, but we  have opened an online market that opens on Thursdays, with pick up at the farm on Saturdays (see button below).   We appreciate your patience as we navigate this new system, and we are sorry that we are selling out very quickly.

  • Because safeguarding the health of our farmers is the single most critical thing now, we are unable to host the volunteers who normally offer critical help with growing crops.  We have hired an additional farmer, and are relying on our small farm team and some of our teachers to plant and cultivate crops.

  • We have altered our crop plans to concentrate on what our community needs most right now: reliable vegetable crops.

  • Because we installed another greenhouse last year, we will be able to grow more produce this season, and will be able to provide, for example, more tomatoes (and earlier tomatoes, possibly as soon as late June/early July).

  • Our plant sales are critical sources of revenue for us.  We will be holding our plant sales virtually in April and May (including our 'member's only' private sale).   Please stay tuned to Facebook and our events page.
