We work with teachers who want to think outside the classroom, helping them to develop a 'farm-based' curriculum to integrate into their lesson plans. Programs are tailored for individual students' goals and include a customized classroom lesson
plan anchored with at least two farm visits for hands-on learning.
We work with teachers to fully customize trips to meet students' unique learning objectives. Content can include subjects such as: life cycle of plants or insects, soil biology and chemistry, botany, water cycle, farming history, role of animals in farming, environmental science, and nutrition.
A Growing Relationship is a curriculum guide for elementary school teachers available for $12.50 + $2.50 s&H. Designed to incorporate classroom lessons with hands-on learning in school gardens, it features 15 farm-based lessons for grades K-5.
Our K-6 Teacher Training Workshops are approved by the Massachusetts Department of Education. Limited to just 12 teachers per session, they give elementary school teachers the tools they need to develop their own in-class farm curriculum or simply enable them to participate more fully when their classes participate in farm activities.
