Complete your community service requirements by growing, harvesting and delivering produce to local food pantries.
Too many shelves in local food pantries are full of canned items and boxes of food. Very few food pantries are able to offer organic vegetables. The number of clients visiting food pantries is ever increasing. Holly Hill Farm is poised to help make inroads and donate healthy organic produce. The need is now.
Help learn about, cultivate, and deliver fresh organic produce to local food pantries. We have an important opportunity and responsibility to grow and provide healthy vegetables and herbs for all. The Friends of Holly Hill Farm sees a responsibility to provide food and education for all those in our community and for all communities in need.
Many high school students need to complete hours for community service in order to graduate or honor society or for the sake of being helpful. Students are invited to participate for a 20-hour work week (or for more weeks). During the week, students work on the Farm both in the fields and in the designated Farm to Food Pantry Garden. Then they take part in getting the produce to organizations who hand out to clients in Cohasset, Hull and Quincy.
This rewarding Volunteer Program takes place throughout the growing season, so participants see the process of seed to harvest, and know they are helping their neighbors and those in need.
